  • A really difficult job. The owner of this old 1983 JD bass forgotten in a garage for years asked us to restore it and give it a new life. The original pickups were with proprietary wooden covers and we were forced to replicate them by thermoforming them with HIPS black mat sheet. Inside the covers, the customer chose active J4Cs, filled with black epoxy resin. To finish off the project we added a TC02B (Bass Mid Treble) and reset the project with a new 4 position rotary switch, master volume, master passive tone and an active passive switch.   • Early SSA+ set, tested and ready to install on a Strat. Our heritage SDA adds plenty of output to a classic Strat sound and the tone gets close to a slightly sharp P90. This model was designed for guitarists who need great crunch and distortion for their single coils, without having to modify the guitar by adding the classic humbuckers. The SSA+s are exactly like the SDAs, but they have a frequency response that is certainly more centered on the mid-highs, just to give the Strat sound that extra gear and power without distorting the basic sound too much. A customer asked me for a pickup for a Gibson EB0, which didn't have the classic "muddy" sound but was very defined and could be used inside a sound card and with various added effects. What to propose as an "extreme" project to make him happy?
